Our campus resource deputy is a first responder in any safety or security situation. He is first on the scene for student and employee emergencies and can quickly connect with first responders in the community.

He covers special events, and is responsible for hiring additional law enforcement personnel for major campus activities. He is on campus at least 40 hours a week and his experience and knowledge in law enforcement are extremely valuable to the college community.

Campus Resource Officer

Our campus resource officer is Pettis County Sheriff’s Deputy David Hockaday, a certified Missouri Basic School Resource Officer.

A Sedalia native, Hockaday graduated in 1992 from Smith-Cotton High School. He began his law enforcement career in 2001 in the Reserve Unit of the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office. Once employed in the Sheriff’s office, he worked in the Communications, Jail, Court Security, and Patrol divisions.

In 2003, Hockaday received an Associate of Applied Science degree in Criminal Justice from SFCC. He holds a generalist license and several specialist licenses with the Missouri Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission as a basic training instructor for police academies and the Missouri Sheriff’s Association Training Academy. He also serves as a departmental instructor for the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office.
