State Fair Community College (SFCC) is home to a resource designed to support regional entrepreneurs and small businesses to help them be successful.
The SBDC is part of Missouri’s network of centers, made possible by a funding partnership through the federal Small Business Administration (SBA), the University of Missouri Extension and SFCC.
launchU: Effective Startup Drives Business Success
The Missouri Small Business Development Center at State Fair Community College offers launchU to help aspiring entrepreneurs and new business owners gain knowledge and information that will help them set up their businesses for a solid start or improve businesses in early stages. LaunchU offers instruction from a certified facilitator and a startup handbook; feedback in small group activities; and insight from local experts. Participants will receive access to LivePlan cloud-based business planning software and access to SFCC’s SBDC market research database. Support from a network of coaches and peers is another launchU benefit.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will have determined if their business concept is workable and completed a Small Business Association approved business feasibility plan. Participants can develop and perfect their business pitch and compete in an in-class pitch competition.
See the course schedule below for upcoming dates. For more information, contact Kelly Asbury, SBDC director, at email@example.com or (660) 596-7350.
SFCC is the only Missouri community college to host an SBDC.
