Career Day | Sept. 26, 2017 | 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
A successful future starts with planning; and it’s never too early to start.
Career Day (formerly College and Career Day*) is an excellent opportunity for students in grades 8-11 to explore careers in Arts, Humanities and Communication; Business and Information Technology; Natural Resources and Agriculture; Health and Human Services; Industrial Technology and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM).
Students will do interactive activities with professionals in each career field. SFCC staff will guide groups of 20-22 students to ensure they are in the right place at the right time. We ask that for every 20 students attending that the schools provide one chaperone to accompany them all day. This will ensure that all students are properly supervised.
Students attending Career Day will receive FREE T-shirts! Registration is limited to 1,500 students, so register early to ensure your students can attend and receive their FREE T-shirts!
*The College Fair that coincided with Career Day in the past will not be held.
Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017 | 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

What is the appropriate age group for this event?
The focus of SFCC’s Career Day is career exploration and how students can prepare now for careers they are interested in pursuing. The students that will benefit from this event are those in grades 8-11. Older students will not be admitted to this event. To schedule a separate tour for students in grades 12, please contact Meagan Klein at email@example.com.
Will travel reimbursement be available?
Yes, however, our method of reimbursement is slightly different than in year’s past. We have divided our area into territories. The distance your school is from the Sedalia campus will determine the reimbursement amount:
- 70 miles or less roundtrip – no reimbursement
- 75-140 miles roundtrip – $125 reimbursement
- 140 or more miles roundtrip – $200 reimbursement
Visit our maps and directions page for directions to the Sedalia campus.
How many chaperones should accompany your students?
For every 20 students from your school there will need to be one chaperone. Chaperones are expected to stay with students for the duration of Career Day.
Is lunch provided for this event?
Yes. A sack lunch is provided for all students participating in this event free of charge. A hospitality room will be available for all school sponsors who attend Career Day.
