High School Dual Credit and Early College
State Fair Community College’s dual credit opportunities allow eligible high school students to simultaneously earn high school and college credit by taking classes at their high school and online. It is possible for students who earn college credits as a high school student to also graduate with the Missouri general education transfer core and/or a two year Associate of Arts degree from State Fair Community College at the same time! SFCC’s offering spans across a 14-county service area reaching more than 40 high schools.
Students are able to take classes through a variety of methods including regular classes in their own building, online classes and classes at any SFCC area campus. This flexibility provides a variety of options for courses. Click here to see a current list of courses offered.
There are many great benefits to taking dual credit classes with State Fair Community College. SFCC dual credit rates are very affordable at $76 per credit hour for both in-district and out-of-district students. That is a substantial saving over regular tuition rates. Credit earned at SFCC has an outstanding record for transferring to most colleges and universities. Plus, college credit earned during high school gives students a competitive edge in scholarship applications, early registration and possibly avoiding housing waiting lists.
SFCC also provides comprehensive support for students enrolled in dual credit courses, including advising, customized degree planning and transfer advisement. Dual credit students also have access to the same resources as college students, including the Proctor Library, tutoring lab and mySTAR access.
