State Fair Community College will host author Marilyn Kay for a book reading, signing and presentation on disability advocacy at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, in the Donald C. Proctor Library inside the Yeater Learning Center.
Kay is the author of “Lord, Will You Do It?” a book that reflects on the challenges and triumphs she has experienced while raising a daughter with cerebral palsy. Through personal stories and lived experience, Kay shares insights into faith, perseverance, and the importance of advocacy for individuals with disabilities.
“When I was younger, my mission was to tell everyone about the alternative treatments Julia experienced that led to so many improvements,” Kay said. “Over time, I realized that while I was trying to help heal my daughter, God was healing me. Our journey was planned by God, and these stories were meant to be shared.”
The event is free and open to the public. Kay will share a presentation on parent advocacy, creative writing, and the role of Christianity in her family’s journey. A book signing will follow the presentation.
