State Fair Community College and Central Methodist University will host an informational meeting at 11 a.m. Monday, April 17, in the Booster Club Room in Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center on the Sedalia campus. Faculty and staff will present information about SFCC and CMU’s 2+1+2 Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) program and career opportunities. Anyone who has ever considered becoming an athletic trainer is invited to attend. A free lunch will be provided.

This program allows students to complete two years of coursework at SFCC, transfer to CMU to complete one year of undergrad coursework, and then apply for the two-year MSAT program. The 60 credit-hour curriculum is a combination of classroom learning and clinical work that is completed in six semesters, which includes summer sessions.

This program prepares students for the Board of Certification examination for an entry-level career in the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. Career opportunities include working in athletic training facilities (amateur, professional and Olympic venues), K-12 and postsecondary schools, clinics, hospitals, physicians’ offices, military, and industrial environments.

Individuals who want to attend will need to register at https://forms.gle/GAgfTfazmppSJgdf7

Registration is required to attend.
