State Fair Community College (SFCC) has announced a classroom in the newly named Steve and Karen Ellebracht Agriculture and Mechanics building will be named after the MFA Oil Foundation. The contribution is part of SFCC’s Driving Growth, Harvesting Tomorrow capital campaign, which raised $20 million for the construction of the 60,000-square-foot facility.
The building, set to open for classes in fall 2025, will provide students with hands-on training in precision agriculture, agricultural mechanics, automotive and light diesel technology, and commercial driving.
Founded in 1958, the MFA Foundation is a collaboration between MFA Incorporated and MFA Oil Company, dedicated to expanding educational opportunities for rural youth. Its primary activity is a scholarship program that has provided financial assistance to more than 15,500 students since 1965. The Foundation also supports organizations such as the Missouri 4-H Foundation, Missouri FFA Association, and Missouri Young Farmers Association, and has made substantial contributions to the University of Missouri College of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources.
“The MFA Oil Foundation’s investment in education directly supports our mission to develop future leaders in agriculture and mechanics,” said Mary Treuner, foundation executive director. “We are proud to recognize their generosity and commitment to advancing opportunities for students.”
