Leah Muhr, an employee at WireCo in Sedalia, has completed the State Fair Community College (SFCC) apprenticeship program, earning a nationally recognized Certificate of Completion of Apprenticeship.
Muhr, who began at WireCo as a production operator, advanced to the role of electrician after completing the apprenticeship. She has worked for the company for more than two years. WireCo selected Muhr for the program after identifying a need for additional electricians and recognizing her strong work ethic, positive attitude, and prior experience, including fiber optic maintenance skills.
“Leah stood out as the ideal candidate for this opportunity,” said Gary Scott, electrical manager at WireCo. “She demonstrated a commitment to learning and growth, and through the SFCC apprenticeship program, she gained the technical skills necessary to excel in her new role.”
WireCo has partnered with SFCC’s apprenticeship program multiple times to develop skilled tradespeople within its workforce. The program allows companies to train employees internally, reducing onboarding time while fostering career development.
By completing the apprenticeship, Muhr has strengthened WireCo’s workforce, enhancing maintenance capabilities and contributing to the company’s long-term success.
