State Fair Community College’s The LearningForce will offer the following continuing education classes in May and June.
- Motorcycle Basic Rider Course will meet May 18-20 and June 1-3 on the Sedalia campus. The class meets from 6-10 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The course is geared toward beginning or re-entry riders and has a list of requirements. Cost is $199; instructor is Chuck Buck, certified by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation and the Missouri Motorcycle Safety Program.
- Microsoft Office Fundamentals is a four-day workforce-training course that will be held between May 29 and June 1 in Fielding Technical Center, Room 200. Sessions will meet from 8 a.m. to noon May 29-31 and June 1 with a session from 1-3 p.m. May 31. The course will reiterate basic computer skills and introduce advanced functions in Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook and PowerPoint. All skill levels can improve efficiencies and knowledge. Seating is limited; cost is $99 per person per session; the Outlook session on May 31 is $49 per person.
- Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A Truck Driving Academy is a four-week program designed to train new truck drivers how to drive, the rules and regulations of the road and how to keep driving logs. It includes about 40 hours of classroom time and 160 hours of driving time. Students must have a CDL permit and pass drug and health screenings before starting. Programs begin monthly; the next one begins June 4 in Fielding Technical Center, Room 245. Upon completion, students will be prepared to earn a Class A CDL. - Project Management Fundamentals introduces principles aligned with the “Project Management Body of Knowledge” and sets a baseline for understanding terminology. Participants will learn project management basics and how to create action plans, avoid costly mistakes and increase competitive edge. The two-day course will meet from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 5-6 in Fielding Technical Center, Room 221. Cost is $899 per person and includes training materials and lunch.
