The Small Business & Technology Development Center (SBTDC) at State Fair Community College received recognition at the Missouri Business Development Conference at Lake of the Ozarks on Jan. 30.
The SBTDC received special recognition for goals and milestones met in fiscal year 2018, which includes activity from Oct. 1, 2017, to Sept. 30, 2018. Kelly Asbury, the center’s director, brought home four awards – fifth place in counseling hours completed; fourth in business starts; second in number of training sessions held; and Rookie of the Year.
SFCC’s SBTDC serves entrepreneurs and small businesses in 12 counties with leading-edge resources in conceptual, startup, growth, expansion, and succession phases. The counties served are Bates, Benton, Camden, Cass, Henry, Hickory, Johnson, Lafayette, Morgan, Pettis, Saline and St. Clair.
The SBTDC is made possible by a funding partnership through the federal Small Business Administration, the University of Missouri Extension and State Fair Community College’s The LearningForce.
