State Fair Community College will sponsor a professional development conference for child care teachers, administrators and child development associates from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 1 in the Heckart Science and Allied Health Center, Thompson Conference Center, on the Sedalia campus.

Don Monopoli from The Learning Station will be the keynote speaker and will share his experience, passion and dedication to children’s music. The Learning Station’s dynamic, interactive style and ability to connect with children has achieved recognition throughout the education world. Participants will learn engaging activities set to music to use in their child care programs.

Other presenters will address topics such as exciting room arrangements, brain based learning and pre-reading skills.

The cost is $15 and includes a catered lunch. Attendees may earn 0.5 clock hours of professional development.
