State Fair Community College (SFCC) has hired local business professional Keith Lucas as the new Admissions and Outreach Advisor for its Lake of the Ozarks campus. In this new position, Lucas will focus on raising community awareness of the degrees and certificates available at the local campus along with the main Sedalia campus, helping to grow the region’s workforce.
Lucas, who has a background as an Army medic and a youth sports coach, says he is driven by a desire to help others. “This new career gives me a chance to really impact the area’s youth in a positive way, helping them build an educational foundation for a better life,” he said.
In his role, Lucas will be a key contact for prospective students, guiding them through the admissions process. He also plans to actively engage with local businesses to help them identify ways to upskill their employees and strengthen the local workforce. He has already begun his outreach, visiting 22 area high schools to connect with counselors and principals.
The Lake of the Ozarks campus serves students from across a wide region, and Lucas will be the admissions advisor for over 25 high schools, including Camdenton High School, School of the Osage, and Eldon High School.
