State Fair Community College’s Board of Trustees voted Thursday, July 23, to appoint Dianne M. Simon of Cole Camp to fill a vacant position on the board.
Simon was selected following interviews conducted during the board’s annual retreat. The appointment fills the vacancy created by Dr. Amie Breshears in June.
“I’m very excited to be the newest member of the Board of Trustees at State Fair Community College,” said Simon. “I look forward to not only contributing to the Board’s efforts but also learning from the current members of the Board as well. I’m excited to be a part of it and look forward to seeing what the future holds for SFCC and our community.”
Dianne M. Simon of Cole Camp attended State Fair Community College and earned a bachelor’s degree in business management through Central Methodist University classes offered at SFCC. She oversees the day-to-day operations of commercial properties owned by Thompson Hills Investment Corporation, E.W. Thompson, Inc. and Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center, Inc., where she provides financial oversight and strategic planning.
Simon also serves on the boards of directors for those organizations and has built strong relationships with community organizations and the local business community throughout the region.

Simon will be sworn in during the Board of Trustees’ regular meeting in August and will serve the remainder of the current term, which ends in April 2028.
