Surgical Technologists are key to the success of surgical procedures. They work with surgeons, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team by ensuring a sterile and organized environment. Our program will train you to become an entry-level Surgical Tech and become a valuable member of a surgical team.

Occupational Outlook
From the U.S. Bureau of Labor and Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook, overall employment of surgical assistants and technologists is projected to grow 5 percent from 2024 to 2034, faster than the average for all occupations. Many of those openings are expected to result from the need to replace workers who transfer to different occupations or exit the labor force, such as to retire.
MHA’s 2025 Annual Workforce Report reflects Missouri hospitals’ workforce in 2024. The data indicates a decrease from 2024 in vacancies and turnover rates among most health care positions included in the survey. However, surgical technologists are still listed #5 in the Top 10 Professions with the Highest Employee Vacancy and #10 in the Top 10 Professions with the Highest Employee Turnover.
From the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics survey in 2024, the median annual wage for Surgical Technologists in Missouri was $60,420.
