Is This Program Right for Me?

With an Associate of Applied Science degree in CIS/Accounting, you will be able to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports to determine or maintain records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities within an organization.

To be successful in this program you need excellent computer and math skills; the ability to think logically and analytically; critical thinking and problem-solving skills; patience, persistence and extreme accuracy; and reading, oral comprehension and communication skills.

Occupational Outlook

Career opportunities increase daily as the demand grows for professionals who can apply both accounting and computer skills. Jobs are available in computer operations/accounting and as accounting assistants, accounting clerks, accounts payable clerks, and bookkeepers. Salaries range from $26,700 to $38,000.
