Sedalia, Mo – October 24, 2025 – The State Fair Community College Marketing and Communications staff recently earned multiple honors for excellence in marketing, public relations and video production.
The team received four Medallion Awards from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) and a Telly Award recognizing outstanding achievement in video production.
At the NCMPR District 5 conference held Oct. 8–10 in Kansas City, Mo., SFCC’s team earned:
- A gold medallion for the “Miranda’s Story” student testimonial video for social media;
- A silver medallion for the “Leave Ready” video ad series;
- And bronze medallions for the 2024–25 Arts booklet and a short-form commencement promotional video.
The NCMPR Medallion Awards honor excellence in communications among community and technical colleges. District 5 includes institutions in Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Manitoba, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
In addition, the team earned a People’s Telly Bronze Award in the General–Local TV category for SFCC’s “Leave Ready” commercial, produced in partnership with ADsmith Marketing and Advertising. The Telly Awards celebrate outstanding video and television work from agencies, broadcasters and production companies worldwide.
The SFCC Marketing and Communications staff includes Stephanie Passasi, assistant director; Dawson Propst, digital and social media manager; Cheryl Landers, design services manager; and Kaylen Newton, copy center and mailroom coordinator.
