The Daum Museum of Contemporary Art at State Fair Community College invites visitors to explore its latest exhibitions, offering a dynamic mix of humor, structure, and spontaneity in contemporary art. The exhibits will run through the spring season, highlighting pieces from renowned artists and emerging voices in contemporary art.
Orange You Glad… highlights how lighthearted moments create bonds and shape shared experiences. Initially curated around a singular visual element—orange—the exhibition evolved into a broader exploration of how diverse artistic styles and media can converge into a unified theme. Curated by Daum staff Marcie Teter and Vicki Weaver, alongside Art Historian and SFCC Art Department Faculty member, Dr. Meghan McClellan.
Constructed Chaos will be available through June 1. The exhibition investigates the balance between order and disruption. This exhibition was developed with SFCC student Brooklyn Correa, under the guidance of Museum Director Garry Holstein. Correa, set to graduate in May, merges art and literature to highlight the interplay between structure and spontaneity.
Additional Ongoing Exhibitions:
Analogous will be available until March 9. The exhibition features work by 12 artists whose ceramics’ pieces showcase the material’s transformative qualities through a harmonious blend of forms and colors.
Mantra: Lifespan will be available until March 2. French artist Youri Cansell, known as Mantra, invites visitors into the delicate world of butterflies. His murals and paintings blend scientific observation with artistry, raising questions about life’s fragility and the environmental challenges faced by species today.
Rebekah Bogard: You + Me = will be available until March 2. Immersive dreamscape by artist Rebekah Bogard, where love, loss, and friendship are explored through a surreal environment filled with symbolic imagery. Bogard, an award-winning artist and professor, creates spaces that invite personal interpretation, encouraging viewers to become part of the artwork itself.
