Current Arts Season

There’s always something artistically amazing happening on campus! Our Current Arts Season features plays and music concerts in the fall, followed by a spring semester filled with great plays, concerts, recitals, and a new Daum exhibition. We’ll close out the year with our annual Student Art Show, Student Theatre Showcase and Musical Retrospect. Join us!

Daum Museum of Contemporary Art

The world-renowned Daum Museum of Contemporary Art on campus features a diverse permanent collection and offers three exhibition cycles each year and up to 15 exhibitions.

Support the Arts

The Arts entertain and enlighten; they spark innovation and creativity; and they improve academic performance. For these reasons and a host of others, we invite you to support the Arts at SFCC. Contributing is easy, and genuinely appreciated.

Our second production is JUNIE B. JONES THE MUSICAL! Book and lyrics by Marcy Heisler, music by Zina Goldrich. Adapted from the JUNIE B. JONES Series of books by Barbara Park, we follow Junie B. as she navigates big changes in her life! As she starts first grade, Junie’s friend, Lucille, doesn`t want to be her best pal anymore and, on the bus, Junie B. makes friends with Herb, the new kid at school. Also, Junie has trouble reading the blackboard and her teacher, Mr. Scary, thinks she may need glasses. Throw in a friendly cafeteria lady, a kickball tournament and a "Top-Secret Personal Beeswax Journal," and first grade has never been more exciting!

Kristen is looking to cast 6-10 actors for this musical! Apart from Junie, the performers will play a variety of roles in this production. Fun choreography will be integrated into the show as well! There are also plenty of technical roles to fill.

Whether you want to audition or help behind the scenes, come join us for the audition evenings this week: Wednesday 8/23 & Thursday 8/24 from 6:00-9:00pm at the Stauffacher Theatre! If you’d like to fill out the audition form prior to auditions, email Theatre Program Coordinator Kristen Henning at khenning@sfccmo.edu.
