State Fair Community College's Testing Services provides a secure, professional testing environment for SFCC students, community members, and individuals seeking educational or professional credentials. Whether you're preparing to start college, earning a certification, completing coursework for another institution, or pursuing a high school equivalency credential, Testing Services offers a variety of testing options to help you achieve your goals.

Our Mission

SFCC Testing Services adheres to the NCTA Professional Standards and Guidelines by providing accessible and supportive services for students and community patrons within the college’s service area. The services provide assessments that can be used to further their educational and career goals.

The National College Testing Association (NCTA) has established standards and guidelines for testing centers and testing personnel. A list of test administrators who have endorsed these standards may be found at ncta-testing.org.

Find a Proctor

The NCTA Proctor Network is a free referral service provided by the National College Testing Association (NCTA) to facilitate distance learning. If you have any questions, concerns, or problems with the selection of a candidate for proctoring your examinations, please call Testing Services at (660) 530-5818.

Services for Future Students

ACCUPLACER

You can take your ACCUPLACER at any SFCC Campus or using Zoom by contacting the Testing Center.

Guided Self Placement (GSP)

You will receive a link to take SFCC’s GSP in your email if you need Placement Testing.

ACT

Send your ACT Scores by adding SFCC’s code 2356 when you register or ask you HS Counselor to send your scores if they are on your High School transcript.

SAT

Send your SAT Scores by adding SFCC’s code 6709 when you register or ask you HS Counselor to send your scores if they are on your High School transcript.

Duolingo: 

If you have not yet requested Duolingo scores be sent to State Fair Community College, please do so at: Request Duolingo Test Scores.

IELTS:

If you have not yet reported IELTS scores to be sent to State Fair Community College, please do so at: Request IELTS Test Scores.

TOEFL:

Services for Current Students

Students served by the Disability Resource Center (DRC) may make appointments with the Testing Center or at Extended Campus locations to take classroom exams with their accommodation(s) as determined by the DRC. Faculty ensure the exam is available by the scheduled testing date when the student schedules in advance.

When a student misses an exam and works with their faculty member to make up their missed exam they may be asked to schedule their exam in Testing Center to have their exam proctored. Faculty ensure the exam is available by the scheduled testing date when the student schedules in advance.

The ATI TEAS exam is required for the Health Sciences programs as an entrance exam. The Testing Center gives the exam in person and online. Additionally, the exam is given at the Clinton campus.

When searching for SFCC:

In-Person: Choose "In-Person Proctored" by
Virtual/Remote: Choose an proctored by Institution OR proctored by ATI

Note: If selecting ATI Remote proctoring, you will need to request that your ATI scores be sent to State Fair Community College. Check to make sure your computer meets the technical requirements before registering for this option.

Some degree programs require third-party exams to be taken to acquire certifications as part of the academic program. The Testing Center or Extended Campus may facilitate the examination of the certification exam for the student(s).

Students who are not sure about their career goals can take the Self-Directed Search in the Testing Center or online.

Contact the Testing Center or your Navigator to arrange a Self-Directed Search, or simply walk in to make an appointment.

CLEP

Take one of over 30+ exams that can earn you credit at SFCC, and help you graduate sooner. Make sure you include SFCC’s institution code of 6709 when you register.

DSST

Take one of the 25+ exams that can earn you credit at SFCC, and help you graduate sooner. Contact Testing Services for the correct institution code by emailing testing@sfccmo.edu.

Community Testing Services

StateFoodSafety offers industry-leading interactive courses for all your training needs.

A High School Equivalency (HSE) certificate is comparable to a traditional high school diploma and can be used to obtain employment or pursue education and training in Missouri. The Missouri State Board of Education approves two HSE tests in Missouri:

The GED® (General Educational Development) Test, provided by GED Testing Service (GEDTS®);

The HiSET® (High School Equivalency Test), provided by PSI Services.

All testing is completed on an appointment basis.
All personal belongings will be kept in a locker including wallets, watches, hats, purses, backpacks, ets. Only medically necessary items or items allowed as a testing accommodation by the Disability Resource Center or the Testing Company will taken in the room.
Any device with an on/off button must be switched off. This includes cell phones, beepers, mp3 players, tablets, laptops, calculators, etc.
Calculators will be allowed only when deemed appropriate by test makers or instructor. Specific calculator policies can be found on testing company websites.
No food or drinks, including candy or gum, are allowed in the testing lab or private testing room.
You will be assigned a seat for your exam.
If scratch paper is approved for your exam, you must use the paper provided by the Testing Center. All scratch paper must be returned at the end of your exam, even if unused.
All activity in the Testing Center is monitored by video. Recordings may be used to investigate potential misconduct.
Every test company has a specific code of conduct. Please make sure you understand and abide by your test’s code of conduct. If you have questions about this, please ask your proctor.
No one is allowed to accompany a student or test taker into the Testing Center, including, but not limited to, a parent, significant other, roommate, or child. Others may not wait in the check-in area or gather near testing room windows or doors.
Disruptive behavior, harassment, discrimination, or intimidation will not be tolerated. Any behavior such as this will result in an incident report being filed.
The Testing Center is not involved in scoring exams. Any questions about exam instructions, availability, content, or grading must be directed to instructors or test companies.

Where is Testing Services located?

Testing Services is located in the Hopkins Student Services Building, Room 714, on the SFCC Sedalia campus.

How do I access the Testing Center?

The Testing Center is located on the lower level of the Hopkins Student Services Building. The office can be accessed by stairs from either the east or west entrance. An elevator is available on the east side of the building for those who need accessible access.

Where should I park when visiting Testing Services?

Visitor parking is available directly in front of the Hopkins Student Services Building and can be accessed from the West 16th Street entrance.

What identification is required for testing?

A valid photo ID is required for all exams administered through SFCC Testing Services.

Do ID requirements vary by exam?

Yes. Identification requirements may differ depending on the exam and testing company. Test-takers should review their exam's specific ID requirements before arriving for their scheduled testing appointment.

Can family members or friends wait in the testing lab?

No. Only individuals taking an exam are permitted in the testing lab. Anyone accompanying a test-taker must wait outside of Testing Services during the exam.

Are visitors allowed in the testing lab?

To maintain a secure and distraction-free testing environment, access to the testing lab is limited to authorized test-takers and Testing Services staff.

Are service animals allowed in the testing lab?

Yes. Service animals are welcome in the testing lab provided they comply with SFCC Regulation 2114.

What should I do before arriving for my exam?

Before your testing appointment, be sure to:

Verify your exam's identification requirements
Bring the required photo ID and any approved materials
Arrive on time for your scheduled exam
Review any instructions provided by the testing company or Testing Services

What happens if SFCC closes due to inclement weather?

If State Fair Community College closes because of severe weather, on-site testing may be canceled or rescheduled.

SFCC students scheduled for exams will be contacted through their student email with instructions for rescheduling. Individuals taking non-student exams will receive rescheduling information from either the testing company or SFCC Testing Services.
