Take college courses without leaving your high school. SFCC partners with area schools
to offer college-level courses taught by qualified, SFCC-approved instructors.
Not every dual credit course is available at every high school, so check with your
counselor to learn which courses your school offers.
Dual Credit Eligibility
To participate, students must meet SFCC eligibility and placement requirements.
- Juniors and seniors: Minimum 2.5 equivalent GPA and permission from a high school counselor or principal.
- Sophomores: Minimum 3.0 equivalent GPA and permission from a high school counselor or principal.
- Freshmen: Minimum 3.0 equivalent GPA, a score in the 90th percentile in the applicable subject
area, and permission from a high school counselor or principal.
- Students must be recommended by their high school counselor or principal.
- A current high school transcript must be provided to SFCC.
- Appropriate placement scores in math, reading, and writing may be required, such as
ACT or ACCUPLACER scores.
- Parent or guardian permission is required.
Want to experience college while you're still in high school? With SFCC Dual Enrollment, you can take courses alongside other SFCC students at one of our campus locations
or online.
Dual enrollment courses are taught by SFCC full-time or adjunct faculty. Most SFCC
courses may be available to dual enrollment students with approval from a high school
counselor or other school official.
Because these classes are also open to traditional college students, be sure to plan
ahead and meet SFCC enrollment deadlines.
Dual Enrollment Eligibility
Students interested in dual enrollment must:
- Be recommended by their high school counselor or principal.
- Have a high school GPA.
- Provide a current high school transcript.
- Meet applicable math, reading, and writing placement requirements, such as ACT or
ACCUPLACER scores.
- Be at least 16 years old or receive written high school approval if younger than 16.
- Receive permission from a parent or guardian.
Your high school counselor can help you determine which SFCC courses are appropriate
and whether they may also count toward your high school graduation requirements.
Homeschool Students
Homeschool students are welcome to participate in SFCC Dual Enrollment and follow the same general admissions requirements as other high school students.
Homeschool students can:
- Take SFCC courses before completing a high school equivalency credential.
- Attend classes at an SFCC campus or online.
- Earn college credit for completed courses.
- Potentially apply courses toward high school requirements, depending on their homeschool
program or association.
Dual credit and dual enrollment offer an affordable way to earn college credits before
high school graduation, with tuition rates typically lower than traditional college
courses.

Additional lab, textbook, or course fees may apply. Some courses use Direct Access, which provides required course materials electronically through Canvas instead of
requiring students to purchase a traditional textbook. A Direct Access fee applies
to these courses.
Students typically receive their tuition invoice one to two weeks after the enrollment deadline.

Missouri Dual Credit/ Dual Enrollment Scholarship
Eligible Missouri high school students may qualify for the Dual Credit/Dual Enrollment Scholarship through the Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development (MDHEWD).
The scholarship can help cover tuition and fees for qualifying students taking dual
credit courses through SFCC.

1. Apply to SFCC
Complete the SFCC Online Application using your name, birth date, and a personal email address rather than your school
email.
You'll receive an activation code by email. Activate your account, create a password,
and complete your application. Continue watching your email for acceptance information
and instructions for accessing SFCC resources.
2. Choose Your Classes
Talk with your high school counselor or homeschool representative to determine which
courses are right for you.
Some courses have placement requirements. Depending on the course, you may need qualifying
ACT or ACCUPLACER scores before enrolling. Contact the SFCC Testing Center if you need to schedule an ACCUPLACER exam.

3. Complete Your Dual Credit/Dual Enrollment Forms
Complete the required forms:
Submit both forms to your high school counselor or homeschool representative for approval.
4. Get Approved & Enrolled
After approving your request, your school will submit your signed enrollment form,
FERPA form, and current high school transcript to dualcredit@sfccmo.edu.
Once your enrollment is processed, SFCC will email you important information, including
your:
- SFCC student ID number.
- Username and initial password.
- Experience access.
- SFCC student email.
- Textbook and course information.
- Other resources you'll need to get started.
Be sure to complete all forms carefully, meet required deadlines, and regularly check
your email for updates.
Earn a College Degree While in High School
Ready to go even further? SFCC's Early College Program gives eligible students the opportunity to earn an Associate of Arts degree while completing high school, allowing them to graduate with both a high school diploma and a college degree.
