Basic Rider Course

The Basic Rider Course is designed for beginning riders and covers the essential skills needed to safely operate a motorcycle on public roads.

Throughout the course, students learn:

  • Basic motorcycle operation
  • Safe riding techniques
  • Traffic awareness and risk management
  • Turning, braking, and maneuvering skills
  • Motorcycle safety practices

Motorcycles are provided for use during the course.

Earn Your Missouri Motorcycle Safety Completion Card

The course concludes with:

  • A written knowledge test
  • A riding skills evaluation

Students who successfully complete both assessments will receive a Missouri Motorcycle Safety Program Completion Card.

The completion card may be taken to a Missouri license bureau to receive a motorcycle endorsement. The state motorcycle written and skills tests are waived, although students must still complete the required vision screening and pay applicable licensing fees.

Some insurance providers may also offer premium discounts for riders who successfully complete the course. Check with your insurance company for eligibility.

Please note that successful completion of the course does not guarantee issuance of a motorcycle endorsement.

Basic Rider 2 Course

This course is for riders who already have basic skills- and just need to freshen up on applications and confidence.  Participants must ride their own motorcycle and have proof of current liability insurance, motorcycle endorsement, permit or license.
