The CNA Training program combines flexible online coursework with in-person clinical instruction to prepare students for real-world healthcare settings.

Program Length: 8 weeks

175+ hour program includes:

• 75 hours of self-guided online coursework
• 100 hours of hands-on lab and supervised clinical instruction

Throughout the program, students gain the essential nursing assistant skills needed to care for patients with confidence and professionalism.

Certified Nursing Assistants are in demand across a variety of healthcare settings. Graduates may find employment in:

• Long-term care facilities
• Assisted living communities
• Hospitals
• Home health agencies
• Hospice organizations
• Physician offices

A CNA credential can also serve as a valuable first step toward advanced careers in nursing and other healthcare professions.

To enroll in the CNA Training program, students must:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Provide a Social Security card or Social Security number
• Present a government-issued photo ID
• Meet communicable disease and immunization requirements
• Pass a criminal background check*
• Receive a negative drug screening*

*Background check and drug screening costs are the responsibility of the student.

The 51-week paramedic training program combines classroom instruction with extensive hands-on clinical experience.

Program details include:

• 51 weeks of training.
• Classes held Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Classes held at the SFCC-Clinton campus.
• 516 classroom hours.
• 650 clinical hours.
• 1,166 total training hours.
• Clinical training opportunities through Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare.

Applicants must hold a current basic Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification before entering the paramedic training program.

This program is designed for EMTs who are ready to expand their emergency medical knowledge and clinical skills and prepare for the next level of their EMS career.

Through an affiliation agreement with the MU Health Care EMS Institute, SFCC-Clinton serves as a satellite location for the paramedic program. This partnership gives area EMTs access to advanced training without having to travel farther from their communities for classroom instruction.

Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare supports the program by providing an instructor and serving as a clinical training site, giving participants valuable experience in a healthcare environment.

The program is also supported by MoExcels state grant funding as part of an effort to expand access to workforce training and address the regional need for qualified paramedics.
