Located on the second floor of the Buckingham Professional Development Center (PDC) at Whiteman Air Force Base, SFCC-Whiteman offers affordable college courses, degree pathways, testing services, and specialized programs designed to fit the unique schedules and needs of military-connected students.

Students at SFCC-Whiteman can begin or continue their college education through a variety of academic pathways, including:
- Associate of Arts (AA)
- Associate of Arts in Teaching (AAT)
- Associate of Science (AS)
- Associate of Applied Science (AAS)
- Associate of Fine Arts (AFA)
Students can complete general education coursework, prepare for transfer to a four-year university, or pursue career-focused degree options through SFCC.
Military life requires flexibility, and SFCC-Whiteman offers multiple course formats to help students balance education, work, and family responsibilities.
Available learning options include:
On-Ground Classes
Traditional classroom instruction with faculty and students meeting together in person.
Hybrid Classes
A combination of in-person and online learning with reduced classroom meeting times.
Web Conferencing Classes
Live classes conducted through Zoom, allowing students and instructors to participate from different locations.
Many courses also utilize Canvas and other educational technologies to enhance learning and provide convenient access to course materials.
Course Schedules Built Around Your Life
To accommodate military schedules and changing responsibilities, SFCC offers courses in a variety of lengths throughout the year.
Fall and Spring Terms
- 16-week courses
- 12-week courses
- 8-week courses
Summer Terms
- 8-week courses
- 6-week courses
- 4-week courses
Occasionally, select two-week courses are also available.
Most classes are intentionally kept small, averaging between five and ten students, creating a personalized learning experience and greater interaction with instructors.
SFCC is proud to participate in the Community College of the Air Force General Education Mobile (GEM) program.
The GEM program allows active-duty Air Force personnel to complete the general education requirements needed for the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) Associate of Applied Science degree through flexible online coursework.
Approved coursework includes:
- Communication
- Humanities
- Mathematics
- Social Sciences
- Writing
SFCC offers 20 GEM-approved courses, many available in convenient eight-week online formats throughout the year.
In many cases, students can complete the 15 credit hours required for CCAF general education requirements by taking as few as five courses. Students who take two classes during each eight-week session may be able to complete their requirements in less than 30 weeks.
SFCC is committed to making higher education affordable for military-connected students.
Active-duty military personnel, National Guard members, Reservists, veterans, and their dependents qualify for either:
- In-district tuition rates, if residing in Benton or Pettis counties
- Missouri resident tuition rates, regardless of home-of-record state
This military-friendly tuition structure helps students access affordable education wherever military service takes them.
SFCC-Whiteman serves as a certified National Testing Center for active-duty military personnel and others with access to Whiteman Air Force Base.
Available testing services include:
- CLEP exams
- DSST exams
- Pearson VUE exams
- Placement testing
Testing sessions are typically available multiple times each week.

SFCC-Whiteman continues to expand educational opportunities for military families and community members.
Future Adult Education and Literacy offerings will include English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction designed to help individuals improve English proficiency for academic, professional, and everyday communication.
Accessing Classes on Whiteman Air Force Base
Classes at SFCC-Whiteman are open to:
- Active-duty military personnel
- Veterans
- Military dependents
If you do not currently have access to Whiteman Air Force Base, the SFCC-Whiteman office may be able to assist with the base access process for enrolled students.
Students may be required to provide:
- A valid Real ID-compliant driver's license
- Information needed for a security background check
