Collab Lab
Explore, Create, and Innovate
The Collab Lab at State Fair Community College is a collaborative makerspace where creativity, technology, and hands-on learning come together. Located on SFCC's Sedalia campus, this state-of-the-art innovation lab provides students, educators, businesses, and community members with access to cutting-edge digital fabrication equipment and STEM technologies.
Whether you're designing your first 3D model, exploring engineering concepts, learning advanced manufacturing skills, or bringing a creative idea to life, the Collab Lab offers the tools and training to help you succeed.
A Space Built for Innovation
Established in 2021 through funding from the National Science Foundation, the Collab Lab was created in partnership with Palmer Hamilton to empower educators, engage learners, and expand access to emerging technologies.
The lab was intentionally designed with intuitive equipment that users of all experience levels can confidently operate after completing a brief training session.
By providing access to industry-relevant technologies, the Collab Lab helps bridge the gap between education and workforce needs while supporting SFCC's mission to provide responsive learning experiences that empower students and communities to prosper.
Learn New Skills with Industry-Standard Technology
The Collab Lab gives learners the opportunity to explore digital fabrication, engineering, design, and advanced manufacturing through hands-on experiences.
Visitors can receive training and certification on a variety of equipment, including:
- 3D printers
- Laser cutters and engravers
- CNC router technology
- Vinyl cutters
- Virtual welding simulators
- Mechatronics systems
- Interactive STEM equipment
Whether you're developing technical skills for a future career or simply exploring a new hobby, the Collab Lab provides opportunities to learn by doing.
