Machinists help create the precision components used in industries ranging from automotive and aerospace to medical, energy, and advanced manufacturing. At SFCC, you’ll learn by doing, spending time in the shop working with equipment and technology that reflect modern industry environments.
Training covers manual machining, CNC operation and setup, CNC programming, computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM), precision measurement, and inspection. Students learn how to take a part from concept to completion while developing an understanding of quality, accuracy, safety, and efficient manufacturing processes.
Train with Industry-Level Technology
Students train in SFCC’s Olen Howard Workforce Innovation Center, a modern learning environment designed for hands-on technical education. The machining facility features 21 Haas CNC machines, ranging from 2-axis lathes to 5-axis mills, along with manual machining equipment.
You’ll also gain experience with Mastercam, a leading CAD/CAM and CNC programming platform used throughout the manufacturing industry. Working with professional equipment and software helps you build skills that can transfer directly from the classroom to the workplace.
