Whether you plan to enter the workforce after graduation or expand your opportunities through additional education, the Horticulture program can help prepare you for careers in landscaping, greenhouse and nursery operations, lawn care, groundskeeping, parks and recreation, turf management, and other areas of the horticulture industry.
Gain hands-on experience growing and caring for plants in SFCC's greenhouse located in the Potter-Ewing Agriculture Building.
- Learn in dedicated horticulture facilities that include greenhouses, labs, classrooms, test plots, and community gardens.
- Participate in internships that provide real-world experience and help prepare you for the workforce.
- Apply plant production, greenhouse management, landscaping, and grounds maintenance skills through hands-on projects.
- Participate in greenhouse plant sales and other activities through the Horticulture Club.
- The opportunity to build leadership skills through the Agriculture Club and Professional Agriculture Student Organization (PAS).
