You’ll build a broad foundation in areas such as animal science, agronomy, agribusiness, horticulture, and natural resources while discovering where your interests fit best.

Whether you plan to transfer to a four-year university, return to a family farm or operation, or enter the workforce after graduation, the General Agriculture program can help prepare you for careers in agribusiness, crop and livestock production, agricultural sales, conservation, turf management, and other areas of the agriculture industry.
Gain hands-on experience on SFCC’s 200+ acre farm through crop, livestock, and field activities.
- Work with plants and learn greenhouse skills in the Potter-Ewing Agriculture Building.
- Explore crop production and field management using campus test plots.
- Operate tractors and other agricultural equipment used in modern farming.
- Learn from local industry demonstrations featuring combines, hay balers, and other equipment.
- Crop scouting and other field activities on the campus farm.
- The opportunity to build leadership skills through the Agriculture Club and Horticulture Club.
