SFCC’s Wireless Networks

SFCC WiFi Networks

SFCCguest (Visitor Access)
  • Intended for campus visitors who do not have an SFCC account.
  • Does not require a username or password to join the Wi‑Fi network.
  • Uses web‑based sign‑in with a personal email address to gain access.
  • You must re‑authenticate each time you reconnect.

There are two secure Wi‑Fi networks for students’ and employees’ personal devices at SFCC. While both offer protected access, they authenticate devices in different ways. Students and employees are encouraged to use Roadrunners or SFCCsecure for more consistent access to college and personal resources.

Roadrunners (Certificate‑Based)
  • Uses a secure device certificate instead of a username and password.
  • Once set up, your devices will continue to connect automatically.
  • Password changes do not affect connectivity, so you won’t need to update your devices when your password changes.
  • Ideal for personal devices that you want to stay connected without ongoing updates.
SFCCsecure (Username & Password)
  • Connect using your SFCC network username and password.
  • After your first connection, your device will reconnect automatically.
  • When you change your password, you must update it on all of your devices.
  • If outdated passwords are not updated, devices may repeatedly try (and fail) to connect, which can temporarily lock or disable your account for security reasons.

At a glance, SFCCsecure offers a simple setup but requires updating all devices whenever your password changes to avoid connection issues. Roadrunners offers a one‑time setup per device and provides smoother, uninterrupted connectivity over time.
