Current Arts Season
There’s always something artistically amazing happening on campus! Our Current Arts Season features plays and music concerts in the fall, followed by a spring semester filled with great plays, concerts, recitals, and a new Daum exhibition. We’ll close out the year with our annual Student Art Show, Student Theatre Showcase and Musical Retrospect. Join us!
Daum Museum of Contemporary Art
The world-renowned Daum Museum of Contemporary Art on campus features a diverse permanent collection and offers three exhibition cycles each year and up to 15 exhibitions.
Support the Arts
The Arts entertain and enlighten; they spark innovation and creativity; and they improve academic performance. For these reasons and a host of others, we invite you to support the Arts at SFCC. Contributing is easy, and genuinely appreciated.
Performing Arts Auditions
We offer scholarships in all our fine and performing arts programs. These scholarships are open to high school seniors, transfer students, majors, and nonmajors. You are welcome to audition for multiple programs. To learn how to be considered for a scholarship and to schedule an audition, visit performing arts auditions.

Avory Nail’s (sophomore, English major) one-act THE ROSE GARDEN is a beautifully told story where the characters breathe life into their surroundings, as the contents of their forbidden romance unfold before your eyes.
Charlotte (Gianna Ortiz—sophomore, Theatre major), a young woman who’s still trying to find her place in the world, is currently grieving the recent death of her mother. As she quietly prepares for her funeral, she stumbles upon a dust-collecting room that hasn’t been touched in years. Who should find her but Charles (Walker Beaman—sophomore, Theatre major), a charming debonair and person of her past. Through this reunion, they play all cards, which result in twisted realizations.
Content disclosure: This production mentions alcohol, descriptions of death, and displays of sexual assault. View discretion is advised.

It is time to highlight Sarah Hensel, who stage managed the Irene Ryan semifinal rounds yesterday, and is stage managing the finals tonight!! She has been rocking it this week!

Taylor Joronen with scene partner Avory Nail, and Gianna Ortiz with scene partner Emma Miller, just performed in the semifinals of the Irene Ryan auditions here at KCACTF Region V. We’ll find out after 7:00 tonight about finals. No matter what happens, these students have represented SFCC and our theatre program to the highest degree. We are so proud of them!!
We had a great few days at the Missouri Thespians State Conference recruiting for our SFCC Theatre Program! Also, a big thank you to two of our wonderful theatre students who represented us well!!
We had a great turnout for the Theatre Holiday Party this evening! The students decorated the studio theatre and participated in a Secret Santa—there were a wide range of gifts: the most thoughtful (ex: personally-created artwork and hand-written notes) to the most random (ex: a bag of 400 tiny ducks and a potato). Good food, good company, full hearts. The perfect way to end the fall semester ❤️
Please join us in welcoming the inaugural induction class of SFCC’s newly formed Delta Psi Omega chapter!! The new members are: Walker Beaman, James Hyde III, Taylor Joronen, Gianna Ortiz, Ellie Siegfried, and Gabe Sokolowski!
Delta Psi Omega is a theatre honor society for the purpose of providing acknowledgment to those demonstrating a high standard of accomplishment in theatre and providing a wider fellowship for those interested in theatre. To qualify for membership, students need to (a) participate in theatre work for a minimum of one semester at the college, (b) participate in a variety of production tasks, and (c) have a minimum GPA of 2.5 or better.
