Sedalia, MissouriFeb. 17, 2022 – High school seniors who choose to pursue certificates or degrees at State Fair Community College in the fall are invited to participate in a Signing Day video to be streamed at 11 a.m. April 14 on SFCC’s website and Facebook page. The video will feature students’ names and pictures, parents’ or guardians’ names, programs of study, high schools, and hometowns.

Students who wish to participate in the video to be posted on April 14 need to apply for admission to SFCC and have submitted a participation registration form no later than March 21.  Students who complete the registration process by March 4 will receive a gift and be entered in a drawing to win a $250 scholarship for the 2022-2023 academic year at SFCC. For more information about Signing Day and to complete the registration form go to www.sfccmo.edu/signingday.

“SFCC started holding Career and Technical Education (CTE) Signing Day several years ago,” said Michael Rogg, Technical Education and Workforce Innovation dean. “Last year we recognized students who chose to come to SFCC for CTE-related programs and other programs SFCC offers. Committing to pursue higher education is as noteworthy milestone in a person’s life, and the video is a great way to share this decision with family and friends. A technical education prepares students for rewarding careers and grows a highly-skilled workforce that provides valuable services. Our other programs prepare students to successfully transfer and complete bachelors’ degrees.”

SFCC offers technical programs in agriculture, automotive, accounting, business and office management, computers, network administration and information systems, criminal justice, early childhood development, graphic design and digital communications, construction management, engineering and architectural design, electrical and industrial maintenance, robotics, machining, and welding. Health science careers offered include behavioral health support, dental hygiene, diagnostic medical sonography, nurse aide, medication technician, pharmacy technician, health information, medical coding, assisting and laboratory technician, practical and registered nursing, occupational therapy assistant, radiologic technology, and surgical technology.

For students who want to transfer and pursue a bachelor’s degree, SFCC offers Associate of Arts, Associate of Arts in Teaching, Associate of Fine Arts (visual and performing), and Associate of Science in Chemistry or Engineering programs. Admission applications are free and available at www.sfccmo.edu/apply.

For students pursuing a health science career, admission to SFCC is not automatic acceptance into the program. Acceptance into these programs is selective and requires completing a second, program-specific admission application.

This is the fourth year SFCC has held a signing day. Visit www.sfccmo.edu for more information about SFCC.
