Sedalia, Missouri  April 8, 2022 – State Fair Community College’s The LearningForce will offer OSHA 10-hour General Industry Certification training 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 17 and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. May 19 in Fielding Technical Center on the Sedalia campus. This training is recommended for new employees and as refresh training for current employees. Cost is $299. 

This Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) course teaches employees the basic practices of identifying, reducing, eliminating, and reporting hazards associated with their work. Participants learn to recognize hazards and prevent injury and illness in the workplace. 

An OSHA-certified instructor will cover course objectives such as OSHA’s role in regulating workplace safety; employees’ rights and employers’ responsibilities; various manufacturing processes, tasks and equipment, and common workplace hazards. Upon successful completion, participants will earn the OSHA 10 Card for General Industry. 

According to OSHA policy, training must be presented in a manner that participants can understand. Training is presented in English, so all trainees must be able to comprehend and retain the English vocabulary. Writing is not required.
