Sedalia, Missouri  Oct. 24, 2022 – State Fair Community College will host a Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) seminar8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, in Thompson Conference Center-A in the Heckart Science and Allied Health Center on the Sedalia campus. The seminar is no cost but registration is required; space is limited. A lunch will be provided.  

Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adolescents ages 12-18. Attendees will build skills and confidence in reaching out and providing initial support to young people who are struggling. Tips on how to connect adolescents to appropriate support will be presented. The seminar consists of 6.5 hours of YMHFA content. Participants who attend the full seminar will receive a certificate of completion.
