Sedalia, MissouriMarch 10, 2020 – Voters will have the opportunity to learn more about the four candidates running for the State Fair Community College Board of Trustees at a forum hosted by the SFCC Faculty Association at 6 p.m. March 24 in the Thompson Conference Center inside the Heckart Science and Allied Health Center on the Sedalia campus. The forum is open to the public.

The candidates vying for two open seats are Justin Hubbs, Richard L. Parker, Christopher Paszkiewicz, and WyAnn Lipps. The municipal election will be held April 7. Board Secretary Ron Wineinger and Treasurer Jerry Greer’s terms will expire, and neither filed for re-election.

The Faculty Association members will collect questions in advance of the event. Those who attend may submit questions in writing the night of the forum. Each candidate will give opening remarks before responding to questions.

SFCC Philosophy Instructor Stephanie Hull, Faculty Association vice president, will serve as moderator.

Voters in the college’s taxing district, which is comprised of Pettis and Benton counties, the Cooper County R-VI Otterville school district and small portions of Henry, Morgan, Johnson, and Saline counties, elect the trustees to serve on SFCC’s governing board. Trustees serve six-year terms and oversee the college’s annual budget of approximately $29 million in addition to making operational and strategic planning decisions for the college. SFCC serves 14 counties including Benton, Camden, Carroll, Cole, Cooper, Henry, Hickory, Johnson, Miller, Moniteau, Morgan, Pettis, Saline, and St. Clair.
