Sedalia, Missouri  Nov. 2, 2022 – State Fair Community College will host three of Missouri’s annual free FAFSA Frenzy events (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) in November. FAFSA Frenzy offers free help to prospective and current students and parents in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, which is the first step in applying for federal, state and institutional financial assistance. 

The first event will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 4 at Whiteman Air Force Base. The next event will be 3-6 p.m. Nov. 15 on the SFCC-Sedalia campus, Fielding Center, Room 229, 3201 W. 16th Street. The final FAFSA Frenzy will be 2-6 p.m. Nov. 16 on the SFCC-Lake of the Ozarks campus, Stone Crest Mall, 3797 Osage Beach Parkway, Osage Beach. These are come-and-go events. 

Financial aid professionals will be on hand to assist attendees in completing the 2023-2024 FAFSA on site and to provide pertinent information about federal and state funding and scholarships. Suggested items students and parents should bring are 2021 tax forms, 2021 W-2s, Social Security Number, FSA ID username and password (create this at studentaid.gov), and records of untaxed income and assets.  

Students attending a FAFSA Frenzy event can register to win a $500 Journey to College Book Scholarship. The Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development will award 20 scholarships in partnership with the Missouri Scholarship & Loan Foundation and MyScholarship Central. Winners will receive their scholarships upon receipt of enrollment verification for the 2023 fall term in a Missouri postsecondary program.
