Sedalia, MissouriJan. 8, 2021 – State Fair Community College’s Theatre Arts program will hold scholarship auditions and interviews online and on campus Feb. 26 for incoming freshman and transfer students for the 2021-2022 academic year. Online (Zoom) auditions and technical interviews will be held 1-3 p.m. On campus auditions and technical interviews will be held 4-6 p.m. in Stauffacher Center for the Fine Arts on the Sedalia campus. SFCC offers an Associate of Fine Arts degree in Theatre, Music or Art.  

From 3-4 p.m., prospective students will have the option to tour the Sedalia campus and theatres. After a dinner break from 6-7:30 p.m., participants may attend a free performance of “Oedipus Rex.” Masks are required on campus. 

Performance majors need to present either two contrasting monologues or one monologue and one 32-bar cut song (bring accompaniment). Total performance time should not exceed three minutes. For technical interviews, participants need to provide a portfolio with examples of past work.  

To register for an audition and/or interview, either online or on campus, participants must first apply for admission to SFCC; there is no application fee. Next, go to www.sfccmo.edu/theatre and complete the Scholarship Auditions and Interviews Application and submit a headshot, résumé, two letters of recommendation, unweighted grade point average, and ACT/SAT scores.
