SFCC students at 2016 PBL State Conference
State Fair Community College Phi Beta Lambda students competed at the state leadership conference April 23 in Springfield. SEDALIA—Six State Fair Community College students placed at the state Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL) leadership conference April 23 in Springfield.

Sidney Guidry, Warrensburg, placed second in the Help Desk competition and will compete at the national leadership conference in Atlanta, Georgia, in June. He also placed fourth in Impromptu Speaking.

Jordan Holloway, Marshall, placed fourth in Public Speaking and 10th in Marketing Concepts; Robert Brown, Sedalia, placed fifth in Sports Management and Marketing; Kathleen Matz, Sedalia, placed 10th in Microeconomics; Hannah Clutter, California, placed ninth in Business Communications; and Amber Rhoads, Green Ridge, placed seventh in Organizational Behavior and 10th in Statistical Analysis.

The students attended workshops and participated in competitive events with students from colleges and universities throughout Missouri. Becky Beydler, PBL advisor and Office Management instructor, accompanied the students.

PBL is a nonprofit education association that prepares students for careers in business and business education.
