SEDALIA—State Fair Community College is ready to assist students in its 14-county service region who have been affected by the Sept. 6 closing of ITT Technical Institute (ITT). The college’s service region includes Carroll, Saline, Johnson, Pettis, Cooper, Morgan, Moniteau, Henry, Benton, Cole, Miller, St. Clair, Hickory, and Camden counties.

“The closing of ITT has created an unfortunate situation for thousands of students,” said SFCC President Dr. Joanna Anderson. “We want to help any ITT students in our service region complete a college education. We have eight-week classes that start Oct. 19 and navigators who can work one-on-one with students to assist them with enrolling, applying for financial aid and transferring their ITT credit to SFCC.”

SFCC offers more than 65 degree and certificate programs in the arts and sciences, business and career and technical fields, plus an Associate of Arts degree for transfer to a four-year college; Associate of Fine Arts degrees in Music, Theatre or Art; an Associate of Arts in Teaching degree; and Associate of Science degrees in Chemistry or Engineering.

The college also offers a number of technical and health care programs and courses and more than 260 online classes, plus two complete degree programs online: an Associate of Arts degree and an Associate of Applied Science degree in Business Management.

Because of a partnership between SFCC and Central Methodist University (CMU), students may earn bachelor’s degrees in accounting, business, psychology, child development, early childhood education, criminal justice, elementary education, sociology, and nursing through CMU on the Sedalia, Clinton and Lake of the Ozark campuses.

The college also has transfer agreements with 13 other four-year universities and dual admission agreements with CMU and the University of Central Missouri.
