Sedalia, Missouri – State Fair Community College Music Arts program invites the community to its holiday concerts at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 6 and 7 in the Stauffacher Theatre on the Sedalia campus. The Chamber Choir, Jazz Choir and Jazz Runners jazz band will perform a wide variety of secular and sacred songs of the season for this popular performance.

Featured favorite songs are “Ding Dong Merrily on High,” “Go Tell It on the Mountain” and “Still, Still, Still.” Less familiar selections including “Chelsea Bridge,” “There is Faint Music” and “An African Celebration,” a combination of three African folk songs, will be performed.

Dr. Christopher Kindle, Music Arts program coordinator and instructor, directs the choirs; Gwen Kappelman is the pianist. C. Grant Maledy, adjunct instrumental instructor, directs the Jazz Runners Band.

Tickets are $8 for the public; groups of 10 or more are half price. The Box Office will open two hours prior to the performances, so tickets may be purchased at the door. Wheelchair seating is available upon request.

Free noontime recitals will be presented Wednesday, Dec. 4, in Stauffacher, room 67. Instrumental and vocal applied music students present casual performances of works they are preparing as part of their semester coursework. The recitals, which begin promptly at 12:01 p.m., are open to the public and last 30 to 40 minutes.
