SEDALIA—The State Fair Community College Foundation appointed Sedalia resident Kim Braverman to its board of directors at its Feb. 18 meeting.

Braverman, a licensed practical nurse and surgical assistant, works for Dr. Elmer Van Dyke at the Women’s Health & Surgical Center. She graduated from SFCC’s Practical Nursing program in 1985.

She volunteers for the Sedalia School District Foundation and the Missouri State Fairgrounds Foundation and serves as a mentor at Washington Elementary School. She is a former board member of the Paul Klover Soccer Association.

She has been married to Dr. Stuart Braverman for 13 years, and together they have six children, several of whom have attended SFCC.

“Over the years I have taken continuing education classes at SFCC and have watched the college grow,” said Braverman. “I want to join the foundation’s board of directors because I want to learn more about the college and support SFCC’s future expansion. I look forward to helping SFCC grow so more students can reach their goals.”

Braverman will serve a three-year term ending in June 2019.

The foundation, a nonprofit, tax-exempt corporation, was established in 1981 to raise funds to meet SFCC’s needs. Its mission is to support and assist the college in serving the community by providing accessible, quality educational programs and services.
