Changing Your Password
It is important to change your password every six months for security purposes.
On the mySTAR home screen at mystar.sfccmo.edu, locate the “Secure Access Login” box on the left side.
Near the bottom of that box select the “Change / Forgot Password” link.
Clicking on this link will open myPassword Center where you will change your password.
To change your password, select the Set Password button, which will bring up a pop-up window.
Enter your nine-digit student ID number in the Username field.
If you are not sure what your ID number is, you should be able to find it on the back of your BLUECARD or on your statement or printed class schedule. Your student ID is also present on most official communication from SFCC. After entering your ID number, select the continue button.
This will present a new pop-up window where you will enter your current password and select continue.
Next, enter a new password.
- At least eight characters
- May not contain any part of your student ID number, name or birthday
- Must contain at least three of the following:
- Lowercase letter
- Uppercase letter
- Special character
Once you have entered a new password, enter it again to confirm.
Select Set Password.
Once you have successfully entered a new password, a notification of “Password Successfully Set” will display. You may close this window.
You have successfully updated your password!
Now, using the password that you just changed you can log in to mySTAR on the home screen at mystar.sfccmo.edu, by entering your nine-digit student ID number and the password that you just created.
This new password is your password to log in to mySTAR, Blackboard, email, campus Wi-Fi, and campus computers.
If you have set up your email to phone – remember to update your password there!
If you forget your password or need to change it for any reason, select the “Change / Forgot Password” link below the login box on the mySTAR home screen to access myPassword Center and follow the prompts.
