The focus of this year’s benefit is to raise funds toward the construction of the Olen Howard Workforce Innovation Center that will more than double SFCC’s capacity in precision machining and welding, and expand other programs such as industrial maintenance, robotics, logistics, leadership/supervisory skills, and apprenticeships. The naming of the center is in honor of the late Sedalia businessman Olen Howard, whose family recently donated a significant amount to the foundation for the center. That donation, along with a recent Community Development Block Grant from the Missouri Department of Economic Development, will help fund construction of the center that will begin this year.
Anchors Away Soirée tickets are $100 per person. Individuals, groups or businesses also may reserve tables of 10 for $1,000.
Cruise ship attire is suggested. Parking is available in front of the Davis Multipurpose Center.
