SEDALIA—State Fair Community College is now accepting candidate forms from people who want to fill two open seats on the SFCC Board of Trustees. The terms of Gary Noland and Randall D. Eaton expire in 2016. If more than two candidates file, an election will be held on April 5, 2016.

Two candidates have already submitted forms to have their names placed on the ballot. Eaton, who is executive vice president of First Community Bank in Warsaw, is seeking a second term on the board, and Nick La Strada, who is the Pettis County Clerk, has also filed.

Others who wish to declare their candidacy must complete the form in the president’s office at 3201 W. 16th Street, Hopkins Student Services Center, Room 743. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The deadline to file is 5 p.m. Jan. 19.

Candidates must reside in the college’s taxing district, which includes Pettis and Benton counties and the city of Otterville. The trustees’ term of service is six years and begins in April. Board meetings are held at 11 a.m. on the fourth Tuesday of the month.

SFCC’s Sedalia campus will close from noon Dec. 23 through Jan. 1 for winter break and will reopen at 8 a.m. Jan. 4.
