The Daum Museum of Contemporary Art on the State Fair Community College Sedalia campus hosted a dedication ceremony Aug. 31 naming the museum’s library the Menefee Library in honor of Tom Menefee. Katherine Menefee donated $50,000 to the museum in memory of her late husband Tom, a Sedalia native and longtime museum supporter. SFCC President Joanna Anderson thanked the Menefee family not only for their generous gift but also for 19 years of giving to the SFCC Foundation to benefit the Student Art Show, the Daum Endowment for Education and the Stauffacher Artist and Lecturer Series. Museum Director Tom Piché said Mrs. Menefee’s gift would enable the museum to expand the range of library resources and research materials that support the museum’s education and program goals.
