SEDALIA—State Fair Community College’s The LearningForce will offer beekeeping classes for anyone interested in learning about bees and their importance to the environment or establishing a new hobby or business.

“Introduction to Beekeeping” will meet from 6-8 p.m. on Thursdays for eight weeks beginning Jan. 12 in the Potter-Ewing Agriculture Building, Room 400, on the Sedalia campus. The course covers basic principles of beekeeping and its role in maintaining the food supply. Students will learn the skills needed to be a hobbyist beekeeper. Cost is $79; instructor is Bruce R. Bird.

“Advanced Beekeeping” will meet from 6-8 p.m. on Thursdays for eight weeks beginning March 23 in Potter-Ewing, Room 400. This course teaches how to obtain bees and set up and manage several beehives. Cost is $79; instructor is Bruce R. Bird.
