Four State Fair Community College Allied Health students placed first at the HOSA—Future Health Professionals State Leadership Conference and competition that was held March 27-28 at Missouri S&T in Rolla.

Radiologic Technology students Sarah McCoy, Knob Noster, and Bailey Yeater and Lakota Wiskur, Sedalia, competed as a team that placed first in Creative Problem Solving. Nursing student Trysten Dial, Lee’s Summit, placed first in Pathophysiology. The students will compete at the HOSA national conference on June 21-24 in Orlando, Florida.

Dr. Rhonda Hutton Gann, associate dean of Health Sciences, is SFCC’s chapter advisor; she accompanied the students to the conference.

HOSA is an international student organization that promotes career opportunities in the health care industry and enhances the delivery of quality health care to all people. Missouri HOSA has 90 chapters with 3,634 student and professional members. There were 1,213 students and chapter advisors who attended the state conference.
