{"id":1077,"date":"2021-08-09T10:26:34","date_gmt":"2021-08-09T16:26:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sfccmo.edu\/admissions-financial-aid\/?page_id=1077"},"modified":"2023-02-09T16:59:12","modified_gmt":"2023-02-09T22:59:12","slug":"grants","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.sfccmo.edu\/admissions-financial-aid\/financial-aid-and-veteran-services\/ways-to-pay-for-college\/federal-aid\/grants\/","title":{"rendered":"Grants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">Federal grants offered at SFCC require you to fill out the <a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.ed.gov\/sa\/fafsa\">FAFSA<\/a> to determine your eligibility and level of financial need.&nbsp; Financial need is the difference between the cost of attendance and what you and your family can contribute toward financing your education.<\/p>\n<p>Financial need is evaluated by <a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/fsa-id\/sign-in\/landing\">completing the FAFSA<\/a>. All federal grants are need-based aid and does not need to be paid back as long as you stay in school and maintain satisfactory academic progress.&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/understand-aid\/types\/grants#grant-repayment\">Find out why you might have to repay all or part of your federal grant.<\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Pell Grant<\/h4>\n<p><strong><em>Award for 2021-2022 annual range is $672 to $6495<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Federal Pell Grant is awarded to undergraduate students who have not earned a bachelor\u2019s degree and is enrolled in at least 3 credit hours.&nbsp; The amount of Pell Grant awarded is based on the student\u2019s Expected Family Contribution, cost of attendance, their status as a full time, \u00be time, \u00bd time or less than \u00bd time enrollment and plans for attending a full academic year or less.&nbsp; In certain situations, an eligible student can receive up to 150% of the scheduled Pell Grant award for the aid year.<\/p>\n<p>To maintain eligibility you must continue enrollment in an undergraduate program of study SFCC and <a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/h\/apply-for-aid\">fill out the FAFSA form<\/a> every year you\u2019re in school in order to stay eligible for federal student aid.
