New enrollment process

On Oct. 1, the Student Success Navigator program will be implemented. This program provides every student with a navigator who will be his or her “personal guide to success” at SFCC. Navigators will team up with faculty advisors and other staff to provide students academic guidance and assistance with selecting and enrolling in classes.

Students can find their navigator and contact information in mySTAR > Student > Academic Profile on Oct. 1. Students should contact their navigators as soon as possible to discuss enrolling in classes and other important academic matters. To learn more about navigators go to sfccmo.edu/navigators.

First-time freshmen for spring semester are required to enroll through their navigators. First-time freshmen will not be able to enroll in spring classes online. All other students will be able to enroll online according to the above schedule. However, they are strongly encouraged to consult with their navigators before doing so to ensure they enroll in the right classes.

Students still have the option to contact faculty advisors for assistance, but they also need to contact their navigators. The overall goal of establishing the Navigator program is to ensure that every student reaches their educational goals in a timely manner. More details will be posted as they become available.

Check mySTAR to determine if there are holds that will prevent enrolling in classes. Students who wish to enroll as soon as they are eligible will need to pay any balance or pending scheduled payments on their accounts prior to enrolling.

FORMER STUDENTS may enroll using mySTAR according to the above schedule. However, former students who have not attended SFCC for more than two years need to contact the Admissions office to update their files before scheduling an appointment with a navigator to enroll. Call toll free 1-877-311-7322 or (660) 530-5833, or send an email to admissions@sfccmo.edu to schedule an appointment.
