Spring classes begin Dec. 28 (minimester) and Jan. 11. Class schedules for all parts of term (minimester, five-, eight-, 12- and 16- week classes) are available at SEARCH FOR CLASSES.
Returning and new students may enroll for classes starting Nov. 5. There is no enrollment schedule as there has been for previous semesters.
To encourage early enrollment, returning and new students who enroll between Nov. 5 and Dec. 18 will have the chance to win three free credit hours for every three credit hours in which they enroll. For example, enrolling in 12 credit hours earns four chances to win. One award will be made to a student at each of these locations: Sedalia/Online, Boonville, Clinton/Warsaw, Lake of the Ozarks/Eldon, and Whiteman AFB.
Enrollment process for new students
SFCC has implemented a Student Success Navigator program that provides every student with a navigator who will be his or her “personal guide to success” at SFCC. Navigators team up with faculty advisors and other staff to provide students academic guidance and assistance with selecting and enrolling in classes as well as providing motivational support and referrals to other resources as needed.
Students can find their navigator and contact information in mySTAR
> Student > Academic Profile. Students should contact their navigators as soon as possible to discuss enrolling in classes and other important academic matters. To learn more about navigators go to sfccmo.edu/navigator.
First-time freshmen are required to enroll through their navigators. First-time freshmen will not be able to enroll in classes online. All other students will be able to enroll online according to the above schedule. However, they are strongly encouraged to consult with their navigators before doing so to ensure they enroll in the right classes.
Students still have the option to contact faculty advisors for assistance, but they also need to contact their navigators. The overall goal of the Navigator program is to ensure that every student reaches their educational goals in a timely manner.
Check mySTAR to determine if there are holds that will prevent enrolling in classes. Students who wish to enroll as soon as they are eligible will need to pay any balance or pending scheduled payments on their accounts prior to enrolling.
FORMER STUDENTS may enroll using mySTAR according to the above schedule. However, former students who have not attended SFCC for more than two years need to contact the Admissions office to update their files before scheduling an appointment with a navigator to enroll. Call toll free 1-877-311-7322 or (660) 530-5833, or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule an appointment.
