MS Hot Team
The Microsoft Hot Team was formed out of the ETS-AC to assess the risk and benefits of SFCC moving to the latest version of Microsoft products. The team met three times. During this time the team members researched the hardware requirements for the upgrades, as well as the software interdependencies.
The recommendation to the ETS-AC was for SFCC to wait on upgrading to the latest version of Microsoft products due to software incompatibilities and hardware requirements.
A test team will be formed at the end of 2007 to test Office 2007, review curriculum that uses Office 2007, and assess compatibly of other software that work with Microsoft Office. This team will be responsible for giving the go-ahead for a Fall 2008 installation of Microsoft Office 2007. Due to hardware requirements Microsoft Vista and IE7 will tentatively be installed in the Fall of 2009.
