Voice Over IP (VoIP): At the June 26, 2006 meeting, the Board approved replacing the obsolete telephone system with a new Voice over IP (VoIP) phone system. This system utilizes our network for telephone activity here on-campus as well as at Whiteman Air Force Base and Lake of the Ozarks. All extensions will change from 3 digit to 4 digit by adding a preceding "7". The handsets were changed out over the weekend of October 14. The phone is connected to the wall jack and if there is a computer in the area, this is plugged in through the phone.  If you didn't receive your phone or you are having trouble with your computer, phone or fax machine, contact the HelpDesk at extension 7711.

New phone numbers were needed to replace some fax numbers and some numbers were added for high volume departments. See the new numbers here. Don't forget to check your forms, brochures and web pages for changes in phone numbers / extensions.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) have been provided for additional information about the new phones and how to use them.

Call Manager: A program accessible from the web at http://ipphone.sfccmo.edu/ccmuser that is used to set up your personal directory and speed dial numbers. Your User ID is your network login name and the initial password was given in the training sessions. You will need to take the option for Change Password the first time you log into the Call Manager.

The Voice Hot Team has been meeting on Fridays. Decisions made:

1) To keep the current authorization code (TIN) for long distance

2) To make a local call the system will require a “9” and then the local number. To make a long distance call the system will require an “8”, the 10 digit phone number (no “1” required), then the authorization code (TIN).

3) Three rings will be the global default before the call is routed to the next number in the hunt group or goes to voice mail.

4) The system will only keep saved messages 10 days.

5) Extensions will be '7' + current extension number. Direct numbers will be 596-7+ current extension. Note: This does not work with 7711 or any LOZ extensions.
