SFCC Speakers' Bureau
State Fair Community College is well known for high-quality instruction and academic and noncredit programs. The same individuals who make myriad topics come alive in the classroom are available to speak to organizations in the community. SFCC's faculty and administrators are a diverse and talented group with interests ranging from our academic and career technology areas to higher education operational procedures and leadership topics.
How to Schedule a Speaker
All requests for SFCC speakers should be made by contacting the speaker either by phone or e-mail. Requests should be made at least two weeks prior to the speaking engagement. Keep in mind that during class breaks and summer vacation, some speakers will not be available. Also, speaking engagements must be scheduled around teaching commitments and other activities.
When making arrangements, please supply the following information:
- Name of organization
- Time, place and date of meeting
- Approximate size and type of audience
- Time allotted for speaker’s presentation
- Topic of program
- Name and phone number of person making the request
Normally, there are no charges for programs or speakers provided by SFCC. If unusual expenses and/or travel of significant distances are incurred, reimbursement should be made to the speaker. Honoraria are not expected as a general policy, but are left to the discretion of the organization. Some departments, such as Fine and Performing Arts, may ask for donations to support the department.
If you have any questions, call the Office of Extended Campus-Lifelong Learning between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at (660) 530-5822.
